I’m back with my newest make! This is Simplicity 1108 view D made from a Kantha quilt remnant gifted from the lovely @misstanguera . This is a very simple pattern that I’ve made before, but the Kantha makes it a special garment. I used flat felled seams to make it reversible. I got this #s1108 pattern from one of the sewing magazines and thought it would be useful at some point. This year I don't have much time to sew, so I decided this velvet green version would do up all outfits to make them more festive! It had it's first outing on Friday for the family Xmas meal. And it is glorious! I wore it with a #helenawrapdress I made a couple of years ago.

Here’s the other side of my new #s1108 made from a Kantha quilt. Yes, it’s really boring compared to the other side, but having a neutral version will make it so much more versatile. I’m happy that I took the time to sew it together with flat felled seams. See previous post for reverse.

#MeMadeMay2025 Day 28. Today was a cold rainy day. Luckily I had not put away my #V2064 dress I made out of a reversible knit fabric from @nickoftimefabric! It was the perfect snuggly piece to pull out. I found it challenging to style this for work, it certainly feels a bit more dressy given how voluminous the bottom of the skirt is and how it hugs the curves. I didn’t want to emphasize that, and knew I wanted to layer it with something. So I paired it with another piece in my wardrobe that doesn’t get worn much, my #S1108 duster made from a burnout velvet I picked up at JoAnn years ago. I wanted to make the most of this reversible fabric so I made my dress reversible. It helps that the pattern already calls for topstitching. I was able to omit the zipper in the back by drafting my own shorter neckband, since this is a knit dress, I figured I could get away with not using a zip and it simplified the sewing process and allowed me to make the dress reversible. Today I wore the dress on the reverse side, swipe to see the right side of the fabric! I love that I get two dresses in one! Be warned this is a fabric heavy dress, so be warned! I got such a great deal on this 10yd bolt of fabric, that I was eager to give it a try, I sewed it up in a day!
