I love this new SYAS hoodie!⁠ ⁠ This is the sample garment I made for the Teen Hoodie class.⁠ ⁠ Pattern: McCalls 8070 ⁠ Fabric: See You At Six Chery Blossom North Atlantic Blue in 100% cotton french terry and North Atlantic Blue 2X1 solid ribbing⁠ Size: Large⁠ Adjustments: None⁠ ⁠ This is a great, basic sweatshirt pattern. The pattern had more ease than I expected. I know oversized sweatshirts are trendy now, but I usually like mine a little more fitted. This is a size Large and correct based on my body measurements, but I think next time, I'll size down to a medium.⁠ ⁠ The pattern itself was very easy to sew. I chose the inseam pockets instead of the kangaroo pocket so I wouldn't interrupt this awesome @SeeYouAtSixFabric print. The pattern is McCalls #8070, Lovely super warm fleece fabric is from @textileexpress I saw the design of the Mummy bear cuddling the baby bear somewhere and it stuck in my mind so I've created my version I got creative with my overlocker (before I knew how to use my overlocker properly, I've recently been on a workshop with @readysteadysew_shrop and have a much better idea how I'd use it now!) It really is super snuggly and is already getting a lot of wear

Nouvel hoodie, patron MacCall’s modèle #m8070. C’est un de mes patrons préféré car je le trouve très bien taillé. J’ai fait cette fois la capuche, doublée de minky (un tissu auquel je suis un peu addict 😜). J’ai expérimenté avec un block de patchwork (motif gratuit #wovenstarblock) que j’ai réalisé dans la superbe collection #intothemist de @hoffmanfabrics. J’ai tout un bundel de tissus de cette collec que je réserve à un futur quilt (en réflection) mais j’en ai sacrifié quelques morceaux pour ce sweat. Niveau organisation: une soirée à faire le block, une autre à le quilter avec les points déco de la #bernina570qe (un régal) et une autre soirée à monter le sweat (la routine, vu la quantité que j’ai déjà cousue). J’ai mis un carré de molleton de bambou derrière le patchwork. Et je l’ai intégré grâce à la technique du #reverseapplique. C’est très facile! Du fait de mon choix de couleurs (bleu et gris) et des motifs de mon block, c’est plutôt un projet hivernal. Mais comme d’hab, je vais à contre-courant de la saison…! J’ai pimpé les trous pour faire passer le cordon en faisant un oeillet passepoillé (avec le tissu quilt). Et j’ai mis de beaux embouts métalliques au bout de cordons. Enfin, les petites étoiles sur les poches sont des boutons pressions. Si je veux mettre mon tel dans la poche, il ne pourra pas s’échapper. Oct. 28- Dragon I decided to make my toddler’s Halloween costume based on today’s Drawlloween prompt, since whenever I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween his answer was “no.” Based on his helpful response, I figured I could make him anything for Halloween as long as it’s comfortable to wear. So, Joann’s had this cozy fleece dragon scale fabric that was prefect for making a comfy Halloween costume. I decided to break up the dragon print a little bit by adding a dark gray fleece for the sleeves and spikes for the head and tail. I used simplicity #s8526 for his outfit and McCalls #m8070 for a matching hoodie for my husband. I have made the pants in the simplicity pattern many times and it’s a great pattern because the pant legs are one piece. This was the first time I tried making the hoodie. I cut a size 3 thinking it would be big, but it ended up being pretty fitted on him. The pattern is for knits, so the fleece isn’t quite the right fabric for the pattern, but it still worked out. I’ve had the McCall’s pattern in my stash for a long time, and this was my first time making it. I found it to be a super easy pattern. I cut a size medium for my husband. For the cuffs on both outfits, I figured I should go with something more stretchy so I used a black rib knit fabric. Which one is your favorite? 1. #m8145 I love the fit and fabric of this cozy, cute fleece top! It's already gotten a ton of compliments when I've worn it. 2. #m8070 My most comfy fit of the month with a purple unicorn cotton jersey from Joann's. 3. #m8434 Decided to sew the button placket closed to avoid awkward gapping at the bust. It's always a problem for me! 4. #m7993 I love this one! But I sewed it up a size too large. Waiting on a new pattern to sew it a bit smaller. But I'll just wear a belt with this one for a comfy, oversized look. Surprisingly, I'm a fan of the collar. It's very elegant looking. 5. #s3003 Foiled stretch velvet from Joann's. I fell in love with this fabric as soon as I saw it, but the turtleneck isn't my favorite on me personally. Wish I'd done a crewneck instead! 6. #S3010 Made the skirt and the tanktop (not pictured) from this lounge set. Both are a great fit and super comfy. 👌 I'm definitely making this one again, probably next month! 7. #s9648 I shortened this skirt pattern for a cute Christmas fit. But I genuinely hope the Luck of the Irish is with you today! : I decided to practice my #yarnembroidery skills and create a #oneofakind sweater to celebrate today. #Green is my absolute favorite color, but this loose weave sweater knit I purchased for $2 a yard at WalMart has been sitting in my stash for over a year now. I used #M8070 from @mccallpatterncompany to make a simple pullover, then embellished it with $2 yarn I found @hobbylobby. : Even though I chose the smallest size, the fit in this pattern is rather large. Next time I’ll take even more out of the seam allowance, especially down the sides and in the hem band. The sleeves are also a bit too long, but I love the drape of this fabric. : I will definitely use the pattern again, mainly because it comes together in an hour, and I stitched 98% of it on my serger. Easy peasy! : With the sewing and embroidery, I’ve invested around $5 and less than 3 hours in making it. : Last week, Mia commented that I “sure do have a lot of St. Patrick’s Day shirts.” But when #sewing and crafting are two of your chief hobbies, it’s so hard not to #makeallthethings! : “May your today be better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow.” ~Irish Proverb : Welcome to the #weekend y’all!
