Took the opportunity of a dry spell to take pics of the coat i made a couple of weeks ago as I had to get this post in before the end of August to enter it into #magamsewalong #magamaugustaugust hosted by @suestoney @sewing_in_spain and @marythimble It's #s9713 #simplicity9713 from @simplicitymccallsuk A month ago this was a king size quilt cover bought from @britishredcross in Belper for £5. I've used both sides with the gingham underside as the lining. Any seams top stitched in orange are original to the quilt. I made a few adjustments to the pattern, facing the edge of the hood and the back overlay. I bought the pattern to make a lightweight raincoat....now trying to decide if I should treat this to make it showerproof. S9713 Raincoat mock-up is Done. This is the first lined jacket I've made and it turned out OK. I bet it'd be fun to wear to the club. 😎 Now to find a fabric I like for the for-realz raincoat.
