This year Taco asked that we have “matchy matchy” pajamas for Christmas and I obliged. Sort of. Aside from the fact that matchy clothes creep me out a bit, Taco wanted our pjs to have penguins. Finding enough penguin print flannel was a challenge. In the end we went with three coordinated prints for the bottoms and red modal for Phin and my tops. The only more difficult thing than finding enough penguin flannel was getting a photo of the three of us, which proved impossible. Also, Phin is constantly warm and so asked for his to be shorts - the only way he would ever wear flannel. When Taco saw the shorts, he immediately wanted shorts too. So I made a bonus shorts and tee in addition to his pj set. Sewing details are: Another new-to-me fabric shop - @pineapplefabrics - came through for me with the flannel. The modal was from Mood. Taco’s pj set is #mccallspatterns #m6458 which I’ve sewn for him before, so are the shorts version. The tee is a #rioringertee . Phin’s shorts are his tnt pj bottoms which were originally a rub off of a favorite pj. The top is #Jalie2918 - this is the first time I’ve sewn it for Phin and it needs a few alterations in future iterations. My pjs are a #rumitank and my tnt trousers (Burdastyle 9-2010-115) altered to be a pull on pant. I sewed summer pjs for Taco, and he insisted on yawning for the camera (they are pjs after all). 😴 They are #mccallspatterns #m6458 which I first made as Christmas pjs for Taco. He’s been growing like crazy, so I made them with room to grow and shortened them to shorts and shortsleeved. They are sewn up in a Thomas and Friends quilting cotton. The remnants will be made into masks for him. 🚂 We give Taco a lot of autonomy in choosing what to wear, and it delights and touches me that he almost always picks the things I’ve made first. In keeping with making unrealistic expectations a thing, Charlie had pajama day at school again, and I decided he needed new pajamas for it. 성민버스 M6458번 하이거 하이퍼스 프라임. 긴 우여곡절 끝에 7월 1일에 드디어 개통이 되었습니다. 하이퍼스 프라임차량 출고지연이 심한지 2대로만 우선개통을 하였습니다. 추후 증차라는데 얼른 더 출고 및 증차되어서 배차간격이 줄으면 이용하는데 불편함이 덜지 않을까 생각이 듭니다. 차량관련해서 얘기를 하자면 디자인부터 직설적으로 말씀드리자면 진쩌 중국산 티가 팍팍 나고 보기가 좋지는 않은거 같네요... (특히 비상구 안내문같은거 써있는데에 중국어 진짜...) 그리고 하이거차량답게 출발할때 종소리가 울립니다. 나가는건 전기버스라 잘나가는 편인데 전기차치고는 약간의 진동이 좀 느껴지긴 했었네요. 그리고 차량 내에 냄새가 빠지지가 않았는지 차내에 냄새가 나서 타는 내내 냄새땜에 불쾌감이 들었었네요... I am back home from Paris and finally at my sewing table again! I have dreamed of so many projects the last week, I really feel inspired to try new things! I have this little jacket in the make from fabric remnants of my #seamworkchanning trousers. It is a 1940s vintage McCalls pattern and I am so in love with it! I still have to make the shoulder pads and the lining. I am not sure what crinoline is as a fabric (see picture 3). Anyone knows? Any other recommendations for making shoulder pads?
