The green sleeves ended up not looking too bad with the purple floral. These are samples for student to see what they will be making. It’s always tricky, as a beginner seamstress, to look at a pattern envelope and imagine the item sewn in anything else other than the stock image or something you would like to wear. 03.2025 - Chasing the high of seeing Spencer so happy when he wears pants that are long enough for him. (Also, panic buying comfy flannels from Joann’s.) First pair/pair of pictures is Simplicity #S9128. I added back pockets and a draw string per Spencer’s request. Second pair of pajama pants are a McCalls pattern that I don’t remember and would not use again. Or maybe it was New Look? My dumb brother wouldn’t let me take any photos of him in the pants but so many of you asked to see them so this was the best I could do! . This is an elastic-waist pant made using @simplicity_creative_group ‘s #s9128 . I tapered the legs in quiiiiiite a bit, lowered the waistband, shortened the hem, and added side seam pockets🧵 . The fabric is a tiger print georgette that was given to me at work by a customer who didn’t want it anymore and I backed it with a black @joann_stores cotton broadcloth. . The day I got the fabric (which was like 6 or 7 yards of it) I had to meet my brother for something so I showed him my new acquisition. I laughed when he immediately asked me to make him a pair of pants from it but since I haven’t made him anything in over 10 years I figured it was time he got something👖 . What I didn’t expect was how he wanted them so badly that every time he came home from college he asked me if they were done😂 Welp Thomas here ya go🐅

Time for bed. My husband’s pjs are now ready to wear. Pattern notes: the pattern came up quite baggy so I have taken in the legs a little to create a narrower silhouette. I also don’t think the stated 1.5cm elastic is thick enough so am going to swap it out for some 2/2.5cm elastic to make sure the pjs stay up properly. But these were a quick and straightforward make; and with my little tweaks, the pattern is good for making some flannel pjs for him in the winter.
