Made view A of #newlookpatterns N6740 using this lovely heart fabric from @surgefabricshop the instruction are easy to follow but I choose to leave out the zipper on the skirt portion as it was already a mini dress. After wearing it indoor I choose to add pants because the dress moves up as I walk 😂. If I pull it down the seam from the top and skirt attaching is at an odd angle and it feels off. I think I will wear it in the future with leggings and boots but this day I wanted to wear it so I made it work for me. Well the weather is dull and woefully dismal again 😒 but my mood is lifted wearing my last make for 2023 😁 I finally decided on a pattern for this wonderful @minervadotcom French Terry called Zebra Collage, this is one of the knit fabrics I chose when I was lucky to be drawn in their Oct sweaterknit challenge. The pattern is the Newlook N6740 mini knit dress, version B. Its fun, Sassy and fairly easy to make. I just love how the the pattern and fabric look togeather. The bottom skirt band is made using a Minerva Core Range Heavy Cotton Jersey in black which I purchased on their last 20% sale for craft members. I think I would have been better using a plain rib knit with more stretch for the band or going up a size on those pattern pieces as, although not uncomfortable I am aware of its tightness and it was tricky trying to stretch it to join the larger top half of the pattern. I lengthened the top part by 3.5 inches, did my usual high round back and forward shoulder adjustment and swapped the open end zip used in the pattern for a closed one as that's all I had in my zip box, it worked fine so will do that again. I love how it looks like a skirt and jumper, the shape of the skirt band, the side zip and how you can wear it fully closed or have a cheeky split, I really like the fullness of the sleeves with a cuff band but mostly I just love this fun Zebra print 🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓🦓 Hope you are all looking forwards to 2024 and have lots of lovely sewing plans, personally I want to try and do less, 😄 🤣 she tells herself 😅 seriously I need to prioritise other things instead of putting my hobbies first, this is from someone with 8 things in her mind she wants to make and we haven't got to 1st Jan yet 🤦‍♀️no hope. I’ve found a new favorite and very comfortable pattern for #memademay2025day18. I had to hack it because I didn’t have enough ribbing for the bottom.
