Denim Tote Bags - Simplicity #S9618 I'm still working on my summer project posts.  It is a challenge trying to get everything posted before I start posting the fall garments that I have already made this and last month. Neither tote is for me: view A is for my DD, and view C is for my niece. There are a few things I like about the pattern and the views that I made: the tote is an inspirational design for the Marc Jacob tote bag  the style of the tote that the bag comes in three bag sizes easy to make Now, I do have a few dislikes, which are related to the construction of the bag: using the heavy denim fabric, it was very hard to sew through all layers.  So at the very top of the bags I wasn't able to do the finishing stitches.  They don't look as polished as I would like.  Next time, I will trim some of the bulk away. The base of the bag does not have the support that I want.   Maybe a piece of cardboard in the bottom will help.  I need to figure something out to make it better. This week, I tried somethin a little different and attempted to make a bag. Which led to a few bags. Each time I tried improving on the previous one, and each time it was a hit or miss (there's something wrong with each one🤣). This was a good experience for me to test out different fabric and materials. My bag is done!! This came out better than expected! I used real leather from my stash that I got via @fab_scrap last year. I backed it with craft interfacing for it to help hold its shape. And used leather glue to adhere it to the back. I recommend that you trim out the seam allowance to not have your seams so thick. . Bag: #memade Pattern: @simplicity_creative_group #s9618

Tote bag #2 is done! Denim is on trend right now so there was no doubt that a denim tote was in the plans. Grabbed this nice denim from @walmart for $7.48/yd y’all!!!!! Lining fabric is a paisley print quilting cotton from HL. Pattern: #simplicitypatterns #S9618 view B which is this months @sewyourview pattern of the month. The inspiration for this bag was that I wanted to show you all how to incorporate quilting into your makes and still be stylish. The best gym bag!! Okay, this one had to grow on me. I was not feeling the size. I've been a busy bee getting back into sewing for myself with some easy projects. This is a Simplicity pattern from 1980. It's a simple A-line with a lovely pocket detail. I cut the waistband on the bias so it would hug the contours of my body properly and because it looks cool.
