These shorts are another pair of New Look 6737. I had 3/4 yard of this windowpane check remnant from @fabricwarehouse_rahway and was able to squeeze the pattern pieces in just barely. ⁣I didn’t have enough fabric for pockets and was worried about them showing through anyway so I skipped it. ⁣ My only modification was to increase the waistband height by half an inch and use slightly wider elastic so they have a boxer short feel. ⁣ ⁣ I think these will be cute with a light sweater and will probably end up wearing them with Teva sandals or another sock/sandal combo. ⁣ ⁣ These took two hours total and the fabric was $4. Seasons are changing, I can feel it, and I am all the way here for it!! 😁 I made this bikini top a while ago, but the shorts just recently. I used the cotton material of a dress I never finished for these floppy comfy shorts and some leftover material my daughter gave me for the bias binding, which was also used for the top. I think these garments compliment each other well. A quick make in time for my first hot holiday in a while. These #n6737 shorts were super simple. With an elasticated waist and pockets they were the perfect Sunday afternoon stitch last month. I lengthened and widened the legs slightly which was the right choice for walking round the @tikalnationalpark ruins in Guatemala where it was 38 degrees in the shade (photo 3). The beautiful horse chestnut @ladymcelroyfabrics cotton lawn bought from @fabricgodmother was cool, didn’t crease and had just the right amount of tropical vibes.
