mccall's 8259, view C fabric is unknown yardage from the scrap exchange ($6!) I added pockets to the side seams, though I didn't have enough of the main fabric for it, so one half of one pocket is made with scraps from a previous skirt I'm very happy with it! First buttonhole, first time doing a wrap skirt, first time making ties like this. The narrow curved edge around the whole skirt took FOREVER but worth it. I did press the skirt, but after taking photos and sitting down to post them, the color balance was too wrong, so I did more photos with a different top. Sittin wrinkles! This is where my self drafting journey began. I made this #m8259 skirt and only had a little fabric to make my top with. I tried making #m8324 and that was a big fail! It didn’t fit right or give me the support or coverage I needed. At that point I had less than a yard of fabric left and went on a desperate hunt for a 2 or 3 piece pattern that would match the aesthetic of the skirt…..no such luck. So I decided it was time to draft my own. All I knew is that I wanted it to be backless, but with the option to wear a bra. I made 3 versions and changed a few things until I got here. I love it!! It gave me so much confidence that after I got the 2nd muslin right, I abandoned the project and started working on my “Blair Dress.” Anyway, it’s done now and I intend to wear this fit until it has holes! Ps. I LOVE ORANGE!!!! How did I do??

A moment for this long sleeve shirt (and the two more that I made in different colors), before it gets too hot to wear them. Bye for the season #skylinetee by @sewhouse7 you’re perfect and I love you. The fabric is the valencia jersey from @lyricalfabrics and it’s my very favorite, I’m not going to tell you how many colors I have in my stash right now, their knits are always amazing! I sized down to a 6 (b: 35”) after comparing the pattern to my rowan tops, I wanted it snug! I also unintentionally veered off the instructions for the neckline, but I like the way it looks so I keep doing it. The wrap skirt is the #m8259, view a, out of a thrifted tablecloth. I cut a size m (w: 28”, h: 42”) but took an inch an a half out of the side seams and then tapered the side seams in another 6 1/2”, so 27 1/2” out of the original skirt circumference.
