I made this as a wearable toile for a dress I was making for a wedding last fall. There was gaping at the armpit. In the next iteration, I created a waist dart to adjust the gaping, but since these pieces were cut already, I tried taking it in at the side seams. I didn't need this from anything though so it it wasn't a priority, so I left it unfinished for months. Until May, when I decided to finish it. It did not fit right in the bodice. I tried adding a hook and eye closure the front to get it to lay right, but that didn't work. So I created a shirred panel for the back, and that miraculously fixed the fit issues. It was my first time shirring, and I'll definitely add it to more things in the future. The shirred back panels and the adjustable straps make it a lot easier to fit. This is a viscose from Joann's. I like the small florals and the viscose is a nice quality and thickness. I'm sad they aren't selling it anymore. Pattern: #m7745

Hey 👋 I'm still alive !! I've been busy sewing some holiday outfits ,starting with the #m7745 I made this pattern last year,but this time, I've made it without all the bells and whistles. I've kept it simple and omitted all the flounces, and I've switched to the high-low hemline. I actually think that I prefer this version to the previous one ,it seems more modern 🤔 I think I will definitely be making more of these, I love this pattern ,it's becoming a firm favourite of mine . 🧵🪡🧵 I think this black & white animal print satin goes well with a pop of colour ,hence the neon green bag. 🌺Alice🌺 Je commence la série des tenues de baptême par ma robe. Pour une fois j’ai osé la robe longue, la robe que j’adore voir sur les autres mais que je n’ose pas porter 🫣 J’ai opté pour le patron de la robe Alice de @mccallpatterncompany en version longue et volant d’encolure. Évidemment c’est un patron allaitement compatible, c’est essentiel pour moi pour un vêtement que je vais porter toute la journée et en public. Day 11: running errands in my McCalls #m7745 and my #msovershirt by @modern_sewing_co in a cotton twill. This was my second version of this pattern as my daughter borrowed the first one I made and now I’m never getting it back 🧐. This one is lined and was also originally longer but something with the proportions were off and I didn’t use it, so last month I shortened it (more like the original length on the pattern) and it fits so much better now!
