So apparently it’s #nationaldressday ?? Wooo! I love making dresses and I love wearing dresses. In fact, my mom told me that when I was little I would cry if she didn’t put a dress on me 😅 what a little diva I was... 👗. I’m so glad that I’m able to sew my own clothes now. These are a few of my favorite dresses from 2018/2019. (I made 7 in total!) I’ve come a long way in the past year! Finished this dress today. It was an unnecessarily complicated build. I like how it turned out, but if I ever build this dress again, I will have to seriously redraft this pattern and eliminate a lot of the extraneous steps. I built to the pattern this time, in case some of the steps did prove to be necessary, but there is an easier and cleaner way to build this dress. #vintageVogue #dressmaking #V9105

LOOK HOW CLOSE I GOT TO RUNNING OUT OF THREAD ON THIS DRESS YOU GUYS 😰 Whoooooo that was a close game of thread chicken. The underside of the hem is purple because I ran out of green on the bobbin yesterday. I'm so super glad this dress is almost done. It's been the most challenging sewing project I've ever attempted and I fucked up left and right but stuck with it and now I have a beautiful green satin "vintage" dress that I made all by myself 😁 I would love to have another dress or two made from a lighter cotton fabric, but I'm not even going there right now. This project has been a rollercoaster from start to finish.
