I’m such a lucky lady! 😊 I have the three greatest guys in my life ~ their love is such a wonderful gift 💗 They are also good at gift giving of the tangible sort. The latest is a gift from my youngest son ~ he was so sweet and sneaky and surprised me with this amazing #GiantFlowerTextile designed by @JuliaAllissonCost 🌻🌻🌻 Of course the battle of the patterns ensued immediately and this time #Vogue1550 was the winner 🤗 This pattern is great for a large scale print! I did cut on a fold instead of using a center seam. The center seam was not straight, but cutting on the fold worked fine anyway. I also had to account for the width of the center inset called for in the pattern. This pattern has a great design for the side splits and neat mitered corners. The dress is lovely on its own, and I love it with my green leggings as well. But I also made the trousers out of a gold linen from my stash. I’m not fully sold on these two pieces together. I love this silhouette on others and was super excited about it. Just not sure it’s for me! You can swipe to see the various stylings. As I am not as fearless as Elke @SewThreadBear was with her giant sunflower ~ I was a bit rattled at the realization that I would have to sever some petal tips! Due to this fear, I am claiming this make as worthy of #OvercomeOctober ~ this month’s theme for #magamsewalong led by @sewing_in_spain @hportemanteau and @carmen.cose ~ Suzy, Hélène and Carmen!
