Girls Night Out in my new Vogue #v1952 knit wrap dress. 🖤🐆 The fabric is a gorgeous double brushed poly from @fabricmart that I had set aside until I found the right pattern. As soon as I saw this wrap dress with the collar, I knew it was a match for this fabric. I love the way it fits and the swishy skirt of view B. Although it’s hard to tell in this fabric, there are two small pleats in the front bodice by the waistband that make it very flattering. Number 2 of my #makenine2024 is basically done. I just have to tidy up dangling threads and add snaps but I couldn't wait to snap a photo. This was such a great project, not a difficult make at all. I hemmed the sleeves with my babylock coverstitch and finished the seams with my new Singer serger. I will be making another one for sure, I have the fabric ready to go. I found a pair of cork wedges in coral color in my closet that will go with this dress. Now I just have to get my 70s Farrah Fawcette hair going and I'm ready to go back to the 70s! Here it is! The wrap dress I sewed using Vogue Pattern No.1952, following the step-by-step instructions provided by @anitabydesign on YouTube. She really made it a joy to sew, taking the guesswork out of certain parts. I have conquered my fear of sewing knits. Why a wrap dress? They are flattering for all body types because they accentuate your curves and create an hourglass shape. They also help to balance your proportions and hide any problem areas. Australia is so unique as this wine was in the day when even the Penfolds Family admonished their chief wine maker, Max Schubert for even attempting to make and promote his new found love of Shiraz. . Penfolds Grange Hermitage, as it was known, was an experiment to see how people would react to it. The very first vintage (1951), was purely experimental with this vintage (1952) the very first to see the light of day for the public to purchase for the grand sum of $1.00. . In the words of its maker and the true master of wine in Australia. . “I hope that the production and the acceptance of Grange Hermitage as a great Australian wine has proved that we in Australia are capable of producing wines equal to the best in the world, as long as we are not afraid to put into effect the strength of our own convictions, that we continue to use our imagination in winemaking generally, and are not afraid to experiment to gain something extra, different and unique in the world of wine.” . My first ever Vogue pattern! This is #v1952 made in soft, sweater knit from @joann_stores I’ve always been weary of Vogue patterns since I first learned to sew with my Mom. She thought they were difficult, so I steered clear. But have to say that this wasn’t difficult at all. For my first Vogue, I decided to follow the YouTube tutorial from @anitabydesign Friends, it was everything! Very detailed and helpful. I highly recommend 💗. The only modification I made to the pattern, was to add about 7 inches to the length as I wanted a midi dress.
