Love #V9076 view B pattern so much and I made 2 for part of my Chinese Lunar New Year 2024 outfits. I replaced the long sleeves to half sleeves for hot and humid tropical weather. The red one is cotton silk/satin and pale pink is jacquard silk satin. Both fabric bought in Malaysia textile store. Added 2 big side seam pockets. I shorten the waistline by one inch by shorten half inch each at bodice and waistband. Here is my take on the Vogue pattern #v9076 I am very pleased with how the back turned out, however the front has some minor issues. First, when pinning the midriff to the lower yoke, I admittedly did not match my circles as instructed, (resulting in some hidden stitches and additional nonsense to cover my miscalculation). If I had done so, then the front would be more streamlined. Second, I pinned the button loops on the left instead of the right. Whoops. I made a matching belt to pull in the waist but can be worn without. This dress was a labour of love, taking nearly 2 months to complete—my longest project yet! 🧵 With countless pattern pieces and a lost collar pattern that I had to redraft, it was quite the challenge. The construction method wasn’t ideal, but I hand-sewed the inside for a neater finish. Despite finishing it before Christmas, the weather delayed my photoshoot until now. 📸 I made a size 10 bodice and a size 12 waistband and skirt. The waistband shape is lovely, though hard to see in this fabric, so I added some black embroidery stitching to highlight it. Not a fan of the front skirt opening (added a snap to keep it closed for modesty), but overall, I adore this dress. However, I don’t think I’ll be making another one anytime soon! Catching up a bit here. I made this dress for a party last month, #v9076 made with my favourite @libertyfabrics tana lawn. Mods: - I had to hack the bodice quite a bit to make it fit but the structure of the panels makes that very doable - lengthened and tiered the skirt - widened the sleeves and made them mid-length and elasticated for your comfortable - POCKETS! Now my dilemma is whether I shorten it a bit now to make it more everyday-wearable, or keep it long. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a long dress before 🤔 My sewing has slowed as I’m making more conscious decisions about what I want, rather than just sewing for the sake of it and wasting time/fabric on things I don’t wear. #sewover50july #sewover50 #voguepatterns #libertytanalawn

Pour ceux qui n'auraient pas vu ma vidéo, voici quelques photo de ma dernière robe en détails...🧵 Il s'agit de la ravissante robe Vogue V9076 😊, un patron qui attendait dans mes affaires depuis presque deux ans ! Je suis ravie du résultat et ai très envie de m'en coudre une seconde version, j'attends de tomber sur le tissu coup de coeur... Je l'ai réalisée dans un superbe lin-viscose bleu de Prusse @cousette de leur collection @singuliere.cousette . Les boutons du devant et des manches proviennent de la Mercerie des Ducs à Quimper, et ils sont magnifiques. (Vous aviez peut-être déjà remarqué que j'aimais beaucoup les boutons en métal très travaillés...❤️) Attention, la réalisation de ce patron demande de la patience : il y a beaucoup (BEAUCOUP) de fronces, et des coutures en angle assez délicates avec des empiècements sur le corsage devant. Avec de la concentration et de la minutie, on y arrive ! J'ai fait quelques modifications : ajout de 3 cm de tour de taille sur le corselet (j'ai coupé la taille 8), et suppression du col au profit d'une simple propreté au biais. (Le patronage du col m'a paru...curieux). Pour ma prochaine version je prévois de retenter le col, avec un autre patron de col 😉 Voilà, c'était ma robe...BLEUE, l'aimez-vous ? I took some projects to sewing lesson today that I didn’t quite execute well. The first dress I made when I started all this sewing was a vogue pattern #v9076 . I loved the fabric and it turned out to be a much harder make than I thought it would be plus it was too fitted for my liking and so I never wore it. Today with the help of my teachers @sewkenso I turned it into a jacket. Next is to sew on hook & bar to these pants I made and have never worn either.
