Happy Sunday! You this is another one of my July makes. It’s a hacked #v1772 . I really wanted flared shorts so I figured this pattern would be a great place to start . Changes: I used view A then shortened it by a total of 10 inches I also widened the legs by 5 inches and grading 3 inches for a more of a flared effect. I made the size large but increased the waist by a 1 inch. (Hindsight: should just sewn the XL and took it in slightly ) I also did a 1/2 inch full seat adjustment. ( hindsight: could’ve done 3/4 inch) I really Love these fun shorts ! I am wearing it with a RTW bodysuit from @zara I got maybe last summer ( or even the summer before that) Thank you for reading and engaging with me . Inspired by @the_fashionable_therapist : My new favorite pants! These are View A of the Vogue #V1772. 🥰 I used a lightweight denim with a nice drape and enough structure to show off these super ultra wide legs! 😱 I made the L, and ended up taking each pleat in about a quarter inch, and cutting off the excess on the waistband.✂️They have a simple zip and hook/eye closure in the back. If you have made a simple pants pattern and are willing to try a zipper, a beginner can totally make these! #memadeeveryday #memadewardrobe

Behold the Thunder Pants. These are the comfiest pants I've ever owned and want to make multiples. 10/10 worth the pain they were to cut out. I was a bit worried about getting the color differentiation in this fabric to play well when choosing a pattern for it but it ended up so aesthically pleasing with the pleats. Flowy, roomy, breathable - perfect for the humid horror that is Tokyo summer. Also my first pair of culottes! Finding RTW ones that actually *fit* in a good way was not in the cards for me. #v1772 from @mccallpatterncompany in a lightweight cotton from @itokri. No major modifications - took a leap of faith and didn't do a toile. I only changed it do have the zipper go through the waistband, shortened it 2cm through the mid-leg, another off the top and ended up needing to take another 2-3cm on the bottom hem. The expected waist ease is variable depending on size and I'll do a smaller waistband next time or possibly fold the excess into a front pleat over the center front. It is 45° 🥶 this morning. Fall is FINALLY HERE YALL 🍁🍂🍁. . I love living in Maryland because we get all 4 seasons. The cool crisp fall air always makes me feel so hopeful...change is possible and it can be a beautiful thing! . Anywhoo, I made some clothes😁, here's the tea🫖. My top is made with flannel shirting and these "jeans"/trousers were made with a 12oz. denim...both from @joann_stores . . The patterns used were New Look #N6698 for the top and #v1772 for the bottom. I'm in love with both! The only note I have for the top is that I would add another buttonhole at the bottom to make 4 buttons instead of 3 total on the shirt. . The pants are FABULOUS and although are not made for heavy fabric...it works well with just about anything that drapes. I felt the denim would bring a high end element to the look. . Not sure if you peeped it, but I'm inching closer to making actual jeans. I practiced flat felt seams than topstitching on the inseam of my pants!
