This dress was a surprise, I made my toile for the bodice out of a remnant of the @ladymcelroyfabrics blue flora lawn (bought from @felicity.fabrics quite some time ago 😅) thinking it would be the lining, but I loved the way it looked so much I bought more fabric and it became the fashion fabric. The skirt isn't quite as full as my usual preference but it still has a nice swish and holds the flare nicely. The pattern is the vogue #v9267 or #v1737 (reissued number) and it's fully lined in white cotton lawn. I deviated slightly choosing to French seam the skirt and opted for a lapped zip instead of invisible. I also added 3 inches to the length of the skirt which would've definitely been too short for my preferences! The pattern does suggest more structured fabrics and in hindsight I should have drafted a piece of interfacing to help keep the front neckline crisp, as it has a tendency to droop a little. This was my test run when I was making some wedding guest dresses but I ended up going for a different pattern 🤷‍♀️ When I put it on to get pics my husband was like oh man that one is really good and I was like yeah, it's all the pleats. Pleat magic 🤣 This was NOT a quick turn around. It is pleat city. Which was fine but I was over pleats by the time I finished it 🤣🤣 so I am PLEATING with you, if you don't like pleats don't do it. 🤣 Although I will say my pleat game is on point now. It was a good excercise for me. Being a perfectionist (with your craft) is hard 🤣 Pattern: Vogue 1737, I size up in vogue but not sure I needed to it was roomy ontop.
