Pattern: Vogue Special Occasion Dress #V1748 Fabric: Glitter Velvet from @spotlightstores I really enjoyed sewing this dress. Not only does the fabric have a soft feel, it’s knit construction meant that I didn’t need to finish off the raw edges nor have to frequently press. And to my surprise, the glittery bits don’t fall off at all, during handling, wear and wash - what great quality. However I believe this fabric has been discontinued as I could no longer find it in store or online.

Had the best time visiting the Triangle this weekend. Congrats to the happy couple! We had a whirlwind adventure from Thursday to Sunday. We visited our old stomping ground at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Started with breakfast at Alpine Bagels, walked around campus, and walked down historic Franklin street. We stopped at Grey Squirrel Coffee and of course, I stopped at Mulberry Silks and Fine Fabrics in Carrboro. Details. I fell in the love with the pastel purple Carolina Herrera fabric on Mood’s website. The wedding was black tie so I opted for a simple dress style. This is #v1748. The fabric main fabric is super sheer so I underlined the dress with a pastel purple rayon and also lined it with the same rayon. French seams throughout. I loved wearing this and it was fun to wear on the dance floor.

Base dress is basically done (just needs hemmed in a few days when I have that patience) so it's time for my documentation routine for Jessica v2 base dress! Pattern: #voguepatterns #v1748 size 14. I was a little hesitant on the size / this thing is FITTED, but for how I'm built it turned out okay. Modifications: added the off-shoulder details. As with most of my cosplay stuff, accuracy is Questionable. I've never done that style before and I'm okay with how it turned out. Also shortened the neckband a bit. Fabric: @fabricwholesaledirect stretch charmuse satin in gold. This stuff gets EVERYWHERE. There's gold flecks all over the workspace. BUT it's also the easiest satin I've ever worked with, I'm happy with how it moves, and it's a good light-but-opaque weight. Would absolutely recommend. Next up for this babe is the crocheted net crop top... layers upon layers, I love her...

The fabric is a gorgeous satin backed crepe I bought a couple of months ago when I met my Australian cousin in Paris for the weekend. It is a dream to sew with, except for being rather tricky to press! The dress is fully lined and feels amazing.
