세트로 만든 이번 겨울자켓은 머플러 없이 자켓만 보면 굉장히 클래식한 기본 겨울 자켓입니다. 허리 절개가 있어 몸에 피트되는 패턴인데 겨울원단 두께 생각못하고 정사이즈 재단했더니 안에 입는 니트가 너무 두꺼우면 겨드랑이 등이 좀 끼네요 ㅠ 한사이즈 크게 재단할껄 그랬나봐요. 이 패턴은 벌써 3번째인데, 다음번엔 라인없이 일자로 떨어지는 패턴을 구매해봐도 좋을 듯 합니다. 앞 중심을 늘려서 더블 버튼 자켓으로 디자인 수정 한것 외에는 패턴 그대로 만들었어요! 자세한 리뷰는 네이버블로그에도 업뎃✅#많관부 🫶 It is a very simple winter jacket without the scarf i made to match with it. The only thing I regret is that I should have cut it one size larger since the winter fabric is thick and heavy. Well this is a very grown up jacket for me!  I have been wanting to sew this Chanel style for some time and I think it will be such a useful piece in my wardeobe. Its the Vogue 7975.  I haven't used a commercial sewing patten for so long, I got a bit wobbly with the sizing. Luckily it's princess seams allowed me to do some adjustments. It's made from a cotton textured fabric from @rainbowfabrickilburn that worked really well, but frayed a lot! That's all hidden under a viscose lining from @fabricgodmother. They have some great linings and because it's viscose it breathable. To my mind this is #dopaminesewing. I needed to have something for a formal event, but a party dress wouldn't do. Rummaging through a box of fabrics I came across this brocade and realised it would match this jacket I made about 10 years ago. I had the idea of a simple brocade skirt already in my head.. Swipe to see inspo photo and price!! . . . My brocade measured 80cm, leftover from a #minervamake about 5 years ago. I made a bomber jacket which I passed on to a friend. Then I found matching lining leftover from my Frocktails dress, some interfacing and even a zipper. As I have the #fgpeony pattern cut out, I used the skirt part and narrowed it slightly. The fabric behaved well, overlocking quite quickly as it frays, and even held a press well. . . So finding all this in my stash, which goes with things in my wardrobe and a bit of sparkle all makes for happy hormones, and suitable for #magamdopaminedecember, do you agree @hportemanteau @suestoney.? I'd also like to enter #2fromstashamonth with @septemberfaden @salixsews as this had been forgotten fabric. Last, but not least, #otoñoretorno challenge by @carmen.cose and @tallerlili_espaciocreativo as this is a simple, but wearable autumn/winter make. . . May 25. Cloudy, light rain, 18 °C. I’m wearing my first French jacket for a work related meeting. I started this jacket in 2014, couldn’t decide on the trim and finally finished it in 2017. It’s a bit big and I fell out of love with the colour of the bouclé during the process but it feels divine and the lining still makes me smile. It took over 100 hours of mostly hand sewing to complete this jacket and I loved every minute of the journey. A rather unconventionally styled French jacket in a business setting. I was having last minute doubts about pairing my favourite jacket with the (obligatory because of an injury) hiking shoes. It's been awhile since I made myself a garment. I tend to put too much pressure on myself to achieve a perfect fit with flawless technique, which stops me before I even start. This month I have two events that this fabric is perfect for, so I dove right in to get it done. It was the quickest and dirtiest of quick and dirty makes. It's far from perfect. But I've already worn it once, which is more than I've worn the garments I haven't yet made, so that's a win. I've had the fabric, including the silk lining, for probably five years. On Friday I finally *finished* finished my Vogue #v7975 jacket by attaching the pockets permanently, and I showed off the full Chanel-inspired suit at the @bayconnews masquerade last night. I wasn’t expecting it, but I won three awards! I ran into several of the judges later in the halls and they couldn’t stop saying nice things about the jacket and suit overall. The fit is excellent, the finish is clean inside and out, and the overall look and my presentation really resonated with the judges. Awards I received: - Best novice for presentation - Best novice for historical - Best workmanship for body-positive modification Also the pockets got a huge cheer from the audience when the MC got to that point in my script. They’re relatively small, but the jacket does have fully functional pockets I was able to show off. It fits! Now to do all of the interior finishing. This skirt is based on Vogue #V8997, which I’ve made twice as a sheath dress. I had to bring in the side seams (1” taken off total) and back waist (another ~1”) to make it hug my hips better and not slide down, but I’m really happy with the result. This picture has the waist tucked in and the hem still let down, but both have since been pressed carefully to set those creases properly. I’ll be spending the holiday weekend at a convention, and I plan to do plenty of hand sewing while I’m there. Progress pics of the lining will happen! The second photo shows it with the #V7975 jacket mockup so I could get an idea of what the whole suit would look like. Steve and I were invited to the Seasons Hospice Gala, a fun, purposeful evening. Our friend Tom not only cohost the event but also received an award for his service 💕. This jacket. Fueled by some of the hardest months of work during the day (completely non-jacket related) and painstaking hours at night hand sewing the entire lining in and making all of the fringe trim myself, but damn if it didn’t turn out so cute and so perfect for fall. I made a toile to make sure the fit was just right, and I’m so glad I did so I could get the right size in the arms. The pattern was generally ok to follow, but I would recommend sewing the lining together almost completely before putting it in, as I found certain hand sewing steps could have been avoided. Toile done 👌✅ I’m doing another Couture Sew Along (it’s been a while 😅) except this time I had to BYO a jacket pattern. Digging through the stash I found this Vogue #V7975. My first interaction I sewed up a straight size 12 of View C. It was just a little tight everywhere. I went with a hunch and unpicked every seam and sewed it back up with a slightly smaller seam allowance (5/8” to 4/8”). It was almost right, I then re-set the sleeve with a 5/8” seam allowance and the fit is perfect. I was worried that I’d have to do some proper adjustments! Phew!! Now to unpick again, cut off the seam allowances and use as the pattern template!! 😆 these jackets take a lot of work! #couturejacket #guipurelace #guipurelacejacket #australiansewingguild #handmade #toile
