I made it in a cotton print, with the style of that Scottish guy from the British Arts and crafts movement called William Morris, he was blessed with an artists eye. I’m realizing that I’ve been solely attracted to casual or flirty makes that I have nowhere to wear and that I really need more office friendly clothes. I loved the silhouette of @mccallpatterncompany #V1801! I made just a few minor modifications - the pattern calls for a deep plunging neckline, but I raised the center front to make it more work friendly. I also shorten the hem to just above the knee. •V1801• Finished this #v1801 this week. It’s my first time sewing a Vogue pattern and it honestly went fine. The instructions were patchy but that worked for me as I could use my preferred techniques instead of what the pattern says. I sewed the longer length version, and for once I didn’t make any length alterations. I did however, have to alter the bust, as although it looks fine on the pattern, the V neck so super low, and to save myself from exposing my boobs to the world I sewed up the cleavage to a higher point. Fall trends include lots of animal prints and I couldn’t be happier. I made Vogue 1801 over the weekend and think it’s the perfect pattern for this print with its loose fitting pleated bodice and voluminous pleated skirt. It has side pockets, an invisible zipper and fun rounded style kimono sleeves. This was a fun pattern to sew and the only adjustments I made was to add 3.5 inches to the v neck so I could wear it comfortably. This pattern is one of my #makenine2024 check off number 4 @rochelle.handmade.designs The fabric is the highlight and was graciously gifted to me by @minervadotcom . It is a beautiful rayon viscose that has the perfect weight and drape for this pattern. It was pleasure to sew and so fun to wear. Thank you for the lovely fabric. Normal life is getting in the way of my sewing. I can’t believe it is almost a month since my last make and post. I’ve been out and about socialising again. Summer work parties, mates Bbqs, weekend Hens do, food and wine festivals. You name it, I’ve been doing it. I did manage to finish this little Vogue number during the week though and bought a new low cut bra so I can actually wear it. When you hang out with Liberty addicted sewing friends in a Liberty bargain sale, off course you need a new Liberty dress, right? So this #v1801 version B was finished in time from Liberty 2024AW ‘Mirabelle mono’. Since the pattern has the deepest v-neck, I raised up the center neck point aprx. 6”! Dress is vogue pattern #V1801, heavily altered, used the front bodice for the back as well. The skirt is free handed to fit the material I had left. I need to make some adjustments like tacking down the front a bit and maybe adding elastic to the sides. But I doubt I'll wear this dress until next summer so it can wait lol. . . . Little moth friend 🧡 and Jack-O-Lanterns made from tangerines 🍊 🎃 waiting for them to dry now... . . . Plum cheese Danish with strussel topping. Used brioche will use a laminated dough next time.
