After I watched White Lotus, I felt inspired. No, not to be an awful human being! I just wanted to have a Fancy Vacation. I'm not a person who would spend $10,000 a night on a vacation even if I WAS mega rich, so instead @atro_phied and I are spending a couple nights at Keltic Lodge! Nova Scotia fancy! It has strong Kellerman's from Dirty Dancing vibes, but in Cape Breton. And I finished a new #v8955 just in time for our trip, so I thought it would be fun to take photos here. I've made this pattern many times (check out my blog for past details) but the old versions don't fit anymore. I really missed this pattern! Bold statement, but it might be my favourite pattern of all time?? It's actually PANTS! They are so comfy and feel so swishy and make me feel fancy and cute. They are massive fabric hogs - I had 3.5m of this beautiful mystery fabric that I got at @patchhalifax fabric swap, and I still had to piece the ties AND they're still shorter than I intended (and I prefer the full length so you can actually tie a nice bow). I made a size 18 but then they were like 4" too big in the waist so I took out the zipper at the back, removed all the excess in the waistband and tapered down to nothing at the original zipper seamline, reattached the zipper, and then adjusted the center back pleats to take up the extra volume. I thought it would be really noticeable in the center back, but I can't tell at all. And I retraced the pattern at a size 14 to be ready for next time. I love them so much! #memademay day 14 and I’m back from holiday so back taking pictures. We watched the @britishsewingbee as soon as we got home and the coord challenge prompted me to get this out. I made it a while back before I knew more about fitting, I adore the @decades_of_style butterfly blouse but my attempts at sizing it up mean it isn’t a great fit. But oh the sleeves are dreamy. Mercifully @munaandbroad lead the way in inclusive size patterns these days and the #nullaborcami provides some modesty. Here's the finished skirt/pants. Honestly, a little disappointed in the pattern - I'd expect more from Vogue. I decided to skip the lining and even then the seams around the waistband were very bulky and difficult to work with. Unfortunately, I didn't check the size properly and a Vogue 16 is very small so I won't be able to wear this particular garment. Getting ready for my brother’s wedding next weekend!! I made these vogue #v8955 trousers, then a silver Ogden cami to go with it but the fabric was a bit too stiff and wasn’t looking the way I had hoped.
