Another make from last fall’s Vogue collection, this is #v1987 done in a cotton workwear fabric. I wanted the skirt to be structured and this fabric delivered. The pattern has a facing around the bottom hem that added volume and I love the high low shape.
This is a straight size 16 with no modification. I used regular thread for the topstitch but I think this would be really cool with a heavier contrast color like white or red.
The formal structure of the shape is balanced by the casual cotton and I think it came out really cool. For spring I would wear it with a block heel sandal and socks. Paired here with another workhorse memade, my vintage McCalls button up shirt.
