Dreamy pants!!! This is a hacked V9075 pattern to make the pants. I extended the length by 6" to have floor length culottes and drafted a simple waistband with elastic back. I ignored the back pleating because of the elastic waistband. #v9075 This is a simple hack you can use on any jumpsuit pattern to make pants. This fabric is a polyester spandex fabric with a 15% stretch gifted to me by @minervadotcom as part of their ambassador program. Nice day for a white wedding 💒 👰🏻‍♀️ Anyone who has spoken to me over the last few weeks has heard about how challenging this jumpsuit was (shout out most to @mystitchydiary and @bad_stitch_oclock !) so I’m so happy I was able to wear it for Ruth and George’s special day! This is the Vogue 9075 in View B. I made a toile in a size 14 and added one inch to the rise as I’d heard this was a common adjustment. For my real fabric I made a size 12 and added an extra inch to the bodice length which is a common adjustment for me. The fabric is a Fabric Godmother viscose crepe and it’s absolutely beautiful but I’m going to be honest, it was a complete nightmare to sew. This pattern isn’t that challenging but I’d never done princess seams before so I struggled with those and ended up unpicking them. I did my best but in the end I mostly gave up! It’s also a big 4 so the instructions weren’t great but there was a really good sewalong on YouTube from @rach_stitched_up . I really struggled with the zip and ended up unpicking it and doing it all again, and I redid the waist seam a couple of times too. I also messed up the lining due to those tricky princess seams and in the end the lining didn’t reach the waist seam so that’s unattached at the bottom! Oh well! I am so so so glad everything worked out in the end because this project was one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever made. I really struggled with this fabric and I nearly gave up so many times! It stretched out, kept shifting even with my walking foot and it’s full of pulls. I’m so disappointed as it’s so pretty but it was awful to sew! On the day everything was fine and Phil had a matching tie and pocket square which looked so cute! I brought a sewing kit to the wedding just in case and ended up helping another girl with a dress emergency 😂 🪡 In the end it was so worth it. Gifted a saree by the one and only @avinmavin (and his mum). A scary prospect indeed! This is the #vogue9075 jumpsuit. I practised on a sheet and adjusted the fit. Trying to include the saree details while having enough fabric and pattern matching was a challenge. And I had assumed it would be soft and drapey but it's actually very structured - good for holding pleats but didn't hang quite as I'd envisaged. Soaking in a bit of vinegar helped a bit. This is my 4th version as I’ve had to improve and alter the fit each time as the pattern annoyingly wasn’t in my size (or anywhere near!!). My first post had to go to this dress, my favourite make to date. 🥰 I couldn't resist this gorgeous fabric and immediately knew what I wanted to make with it. #V9075 fit the bill for the bodice and sleeves, although I chose to add elastic panels into the back for comfort and additional lunch capacity. I wanted pleats in the skirt to look like they're flowing out of the princess seams, but somehow I pattern matched the bodice at the waist so well that it didn't show quite as planned. I should probably be happy about that though 😆 I hemmed with a yellow thread to match the sunflowers but sort of wish I'd gone with purple. Am I going to change it? Absolutely not. Lessons learned: cut into the pretty fabric!, and mockups are a pain but worth it. Brisbane Frocktails 2024! Thank you Brisbane Spoolettes for a fantastic night! So great to catch up with so many talented sewists, and so good to see you Charly and Sarah. A bit of a belated post and I did not get many photos, but I had a lot of fun making this dress despite some errors (should YouTube burrito technique if I haven’t done it recently, a bit of unpicking was involved) Inspired by a Dominique Healy dress I saw a few years ago, I combined the bodice of #V9075 with the skirt of #M6741 and cut a new neckline. Precious linen fabric a splurge from @tessutifabrics a couple of years ago. Yes it has taken me around 3 years to realise this vision 🙃 👗💃👗

Lately I've been busy making for others but I really wanted to get round to this one this summer. It's the Vogue #v9075 I bought this fabric initially for a college project but I loved it so much I went back for more and have been hoarding it since. I've made this one before but after making my original (black floral, last pic) many years ago I lost the pattern 🤦🏻‍♀️. I bought it again but couldn't remember the size I cut and the others I made since haven't been as comfortable. The sizing for this pattern is really small and I don't think there's enough in the rise jumpsuit version. I made one in a size 8 (my usual size) and threw it away as I couldn't move in it. For this one I cut a 10 all over and a 14 at the crotch in the trouser pieces and this seemed to have solved the problem for me. #v9075 #dressmaker #dressmakersofinstagram #handmadeclothing #memadefashion #slowfashion #sewist #summervibes
