My contribution to #sewankarafabric24 on day 3 is an abstract #waxprint which I bought last year at a small African shop in Überlingen at the Lake of Constance, Germany. I know, that's an unusual place for shopping Ankara fabric, but the owner had a small collection of ingenious prints purchased in South Africa. I just couldn't resist!
The pattern is vintage #newlook6378 which my dear friend Doris found in a charity shop somwhere in the UK. She is based in London and is always looking out for vintage patterns because she knows that I have become a fan of these and of course she will get one or the other new make from me, too. New Look is part of the big five, therefore let me tag #sewnwithbig5july hosted by @simplicitymccallsuk. This old/new style suits me very well because it can be worn over many different tops or on its own and I love the little details such as the pleated sleeves with a button and the waistband on the back. The pattern offers various possibilities such as an additional dress or a skirt.
My stash has been decreased and I have fulfilled Nicole's @septemberfaden and my monthly goal to sew #2fromstashamonth. Yay! Anyone jealous? Hmmm, I can't really get around to #magamjealousjuly. I hope Suzy @Sewing_in_spain, Sue @sue_stoney and Hélène @hportemanteau will let me tag them anyway.
