Yesterday was a rainy day, so Ember watched Ponyo and I sewed her some matching separates from a linen bed skirt I found at Dirt Cheap for $1.25! I've recently discovered the bedding section there, and though it's more salvage stuff and not exactly thrifting, it's still occasionally a great place to score deals on linen! #sewingonabudget . Just needed a little something spring-y and matchy for my sweet girl and I 🥰 . I made us these tops with 2.5 yards of a yarn dyed cotton gingham from hobby lobby. Total impulse purchase/make, but it cost about $10 + 4-5 hours of time 🤷‍♀️. . Her top is based on #simplicity8621 And mine is based on #simplicity8873 Both cropped with a gathered rectangle skirt gathered at a 1:1.5 ratio. I can recommend both patterns highly! I love the construction (fully self lined both bodices) and the design.
