New gym singlet. What should have been a quick make went a few hours longer than it was meant to. I used #voguepatterns #v1897 view D. I opted to finish the edges differently. Bound the arm edges but had to attach a neck band because I stuffed up the binding (cut it too long so it was all wavy) All in all it turned out pretty good. Next time I’ll raise the back neckline though - sits a bit too low for my liking. Good to sew with stretch, need the practice! I made this bathing suit. Like, I sewed it myself using my sewing machine and that's just WILD. For some reason, I got it in my head this summer that I would buy another paper pattern from JoAnn Fabrics and this time it would be different. Jump! (For My Love)... but, also, when I saw this fricking face fabric I felt... like I had to make another bathing suit cause it was just sooo fun! (The lady at the fabric counter at Joann's agreed.) I'm sorry/not sorry for posting more photos from my trip to the island of Grenada in the Caribbean. I was not a fan of this pattern, but I made it work, mostly. I added the tie in front which I felt is necessary but will also never make this style bathing suit again because the elastic part was such a pain. Immediately off the high of my crinkle satin shorts I used the other pattern in this envelope to make a pair of rayon challis board shorts. This batik print is from @fabricmart and these are the most comfortable lightweight shorts for summer.⁣ I cut the size Medium. ⁣ There’s inseam pockets and a little coin pocket with a flap. The waistband has two pieces of elastic in the back but you could simplify and do just one. I’m in my activewear era! I love going to the gym and working now and running and being active and I finally have the confidence to make my own activewear clothing! I’ve had this fabric in my stash for over a year and I finally found patterns and the confidence to be able to make things like sports bras and tank tops and Men’s leggings and shorts! I’ve been loving creating my own activewear wardrobe! It’s been such a fun process and I can’t wait to test out more fabrics and more designs. I love a coordinating set and so I’ve been making sports bras, tank tops, leggings, and shorts that I can wear together or mix and match. So I have a lot of different outfit combinations, and variations, which I love! I want to test out a few more designs but so far I’ve been loving what I’ve been making!
