The winter sewing season has officially opened with this first make. I recently bought this fabulous fur like stretch knit fabric from @clothcontroluk and had planned to make this McCall’s poncho M8347 as soon as I could ready for autumn. I was inspired by a poncho I saw in John Lewis on a recent trip to London (see last pic) it had great contrast knitted pockets in an argyle style pattern and I wanted to recreate something similar. Originally I planned to knit the pockets myself but then I saw an easy way. So this is the result with a bit of embellishment via knitted pockets cut from an M&S jumper that I will now wear as a vest because I’ve used the sleeves to make this. #wintersewing #handmadewardrobe #sewersofinstagram #handmadeponcho #clothcontrol #m8347 #mccalls
