My newest jumper/pinafore is #butterick #B6955. This pattern is a reissue of a vintage pattern from ca. 1960. I used a green and blue plaid flannel that I thrifted. A sturdier fabric like wool or corduroy probably would have been more ideal, but this was what I had and in the end I think it worked okay. It does have school uniform vibes, but as I never had to wear a school uniform I don't have any negative associations with them. I managed to complete the project using only notions from my stash, including a vintage belt buckle. I didn't have a long enough piece of interfacing for the belt pieces. But I thought about the recent episode of @checkyourthread podcast on more sustainable haberdashery, and I decided to substitute fabric for the interfacing. Since the instructions were written for sew-in interfacing anyway, it was an easy switch. I just used some old cotton sheeting.
