Simplicity 8347 - View C(3): Made with Happy Floral on Yellow Quilt Cotton fabric and 5/8 White Satin ribbon for the ruffles and 3/8 White Satin ribbon for the bottom. Instead of making the trim, I opted for the white ribbon, which pops more with this fabric. Step 10-11 could have been better written: (10) sew a narrow hem along the bottom of the romper sleeves & (11) sleeves will be stitched to romper on armhole, right sides together. The difficulty I had was finding the right sized ribbon for the ruffles. I started with the 3/8 ribbon and a thin elastic, but that worked out poorly so I settled for a wider ribbon and a 1/4 elastic. The polka dot ribbon will be used for the yoke elastic casing and trim at the bottom of the dress. Day 16 **echidna photo alert - swipe and see** of the #marsupialsandmonotremes fabric Blog tour, and next up we have Sylvia and Gary from @alisellou_designs. Sylvia chose a modern design that was very simple and quick to make. 42 x 8 1/2″ blocks cut with her @accuquilt GO! cutter, then cut on the diagonal and she added a 1 1/2″ strip to join the blocks together. The quilt top was quilted by Jackson Cook from @house_of_jackson. Stunning work! The second project was a pretty dress using the orange grevillea fabrics and @simplicity_creative_group pattern #8347, with some blue grevillea fabric trimming - a perfect colour pop contrast. With left over fabric scraps mug rugs, key rings, gift tags and a diary cover were made.. oh and we spy a gorgeous wombat fabric basket too!
