The CWL convention I attended at the end of April had a fun night - Prom Through The Decades. I went to prom in the late 70's, so I decided to do the 60's!
I chose a vintage pattern from @simplicity_creative_group #S9916 and this vintagy looking fabric from @fabricland.canada
I did not sew in the darts, making a looser fit. However, that created a problem with the bare shoulder side. With the help of my husband and three muslins, the solution to getting rid of all the wrinkles in the back was to add a small strap!
I also made the little handbag for the occasion.
I love how this dress turned out. I plan on wearing it to a wedding in July (without the gloves and 60's hairstyle 😂) and casually after that.
I neglected to get shots that night, so I tried to re-enact it. There are a couple of action shots. The stuffed animals were our dates and were later donated to the children's hospital.
I am submitting this make, very late, for #magamadmireapril and #magammellowmarch
I have always admired the styles from the 60's and this fabric, mellow yellow!
