This top is so easy and comfortable - I see myself sewing a whole lot more. There’s also a version with ties at the sides which I’m hoping to try. I finally made a 2 piece set 🩷🌸 I found this pattern at the op shop for 50c and I knew it would be perfect to make a cute summer 2 piece set. The top has side ties which I love and the pants of course have pockets. It’s so comfortable and I will be planning to make another set but maybe in a less vibrant fabric. Day 23/31 #MeMadeMay I made these pants for going to see the Barbie movie and (possibly) needless to say, they haven’t gotten much wear since. Thinking I might make another gingham pair in black and white since they are pretty fun. These are the pant view of New Look 6461. If I had to live off of one pattern, it would apparently be this one as it’s definitely been featured the most in my closet this month! The top is New Look 6459 which I need to get the courage to take apart and redo since the bust darts are way too high. Day 8/31 #memademay Not exactly earth shattering and I almost didn’t want to post, but I said my goal (pledge) for my first Me Made May was to sew more, wear more and share more no matter if it wasn’t perfect/amazing. So here it is. Was dealing with health stuff today and had to take the day slowly (see unmade bed and mess), but I brought some portable sewing along to preschool pickup (in the mesh bag) and managed to squeeze in enough sewing throughout the day to finish a quick project. #mmm Day 5💦 Dreary Sunday made funny by Brad ~ and, oh, he loves that Norman Rockwell handkerchief I ran up with the serger😃 (There are still gentlemen who carry handkerchiefs and Brad is one of them!💕) I’m wearing good ol’ Shlub & Schlep clothes ~ chore clothes, utilitarian clothes, gloomy Sunday afternoon clothes. #newlook6461 is a top with decorative side ties, made here in a splashy Mood cotton print. Pants are #simplicity8378 ~ a hacking pattern that I made cropped and flared in a heavy gray knit. I feel like they’re too big - despite me doing my best to eat every piece of chocolate in sight that isn’t nailed down😫. Next time: slightly smaller and lighter fabric. Completed my first reversible top this month using #n6461 view C for the #sewreversible2023 challenge. To create this top, I used a salmon pink thrifted gauze and a checkered quilting cotton. My SO prefers the checkered side, but I love the salmon pink side more 💕

Day 5/31 #memademay The mirror selfies are probably not gonna get better, guys 😅 Wearing a New Look 6461 tank/shell top (#n6461) and Simplicity 8558 wide leg elastic waist trousers (#s8558) which are from an older @mimigstyle pattern. Both are sewn from the same linen/rayon blend from Joann Fabrics 🥲. I love this fabric and I’m really going to miss not having it locally. It does, however, shrink and grow like craaaaazy. I’ll have to post a side by side of just-out-of-the-dryer vs. steamed. These pants were at least two inches shorter before I steam-pressed them this morning 🤣. Not sure how I feel about that, or how to work around it, but I’m wearing them anyway. Both of these patterns are ones I’d like to sew more of, comfy and perfect for hot weather.
