The time has finally come. Summer is almost over and me being the slow sewer that I am, know that I will not be able to squeeze another make for summer. So, these shorts are officially the last of my summer makes! This is the former McCalls #m7415 shorts now under Butterick #B6851. #B6851 is a good candidate for double welt pockets, so I had to learn how to do that this morning before applying :). I'm very happy how they turned out! The most helpful tutorial for me was @sewanastasia on YouTube, and I definitely recommend testing out on scrap fabric to see if you really understand what to do before just going for it on a garment. Fabric is Robert Kaufman Clairview Lakeland, a linen/rayon blend I bought from @promenadefabrics back in 2021 with this pattern in mind and now I'm finally getting around to doing it. #Butterick6851 is a single seam pant so it's perfect for large prints you don't want to break up- and that's why I wanted to do welt pockets instead of patches.
