Thank you to Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and her incredible team for working with KinderSmile Foundation over the past few years, helping us raise much needed awareness at the state level to the broken oral health system and inequities faced by vulnruble communities in NJ, each day!
After much advocacy and partnership, KinderSmile Foundation was included in the FY25 Appropriations Act signed by Governor Murphy at the end of June!
This funding sponsors the expansion of our Perinatal Health and Wellness Program, as we continue to make a long term impact for mothers in our state.
Our hope is to get more legislative support and pass the Maternal Oral Medical (MOM) Project, Bill #A897 and #S1575 that calls for the expansion of oral health education and dental care to underinsured pregnant women on a state level.
Once again, we express our thanks to our #oralhealthchampions, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, Assemblywoman Sumter and the NJ Legislative Black Caucus, Assemblyman Verrelli, Assemblyman Venezia, Assemblywoman Morales, and Senator Zwicker for their passion and steadfast support.
Together we can and will make a profound impact in the communities of NJ that need us most.
