I really love giving my friends and family handmade gifts. Even as a child, I remember the thrill of making a friendship bracelet that was *just right* for the intended recipient. When my Dad asked me to sew a simple summer robe, I felt that thrill again as I made each choice. Which pattern would be a good equivalent to the summer robes I sewed for my mom and sister-in-law? Was the fabric I chose the color of blue he had in mind? Should I add a print contrast somewhere? Was I making the right pattern adjustments based on his measurements? I practiced slow sewing and gave my self time to make each choice, and I’m so happy with how it turned out! 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I chose a new Simplicity unisex robe pattern #S9131 because it looked simple and similar to the #S1946 that I sewed for the ladies. For summer I like robes with a nice flat neckline without a bunch of fabric around your neck, so I didn’t want a pattern with a shawl collar like you find on terry cloth robes. This is a super quick and easy pattern, great for beginner sewists.
