Things I did with the leftover fabric from the dress I posted earlier. Fabric waste is a real problem and what I, an old lady who has claimed a bedroom in which to make art, does with her sewing waste won't do fuckall to impact the problem in *any* meaningful way. Understand if I am going up against Shein and Levis and everyone else, my actions matter Not. One. Bit. But, if there's enough to whip out a few more things, I'm probably gonna. Tshirt from a vintage 80s Butterick French Connection pattern. #B3509 It had this method of using elastic to sort of shape the neckline that, I admit, I thought was complete nonsense but..they were right. Dammit. Underwear! When I first started making underwear my spouse told me, very seriousy, "we *can* afford for you to buy underwear." Um, no kidding, dude but as a man you have no idea what it's like to wear poorly conceived underwear." I have been using the Kwik Sew pattern for so long I just retraced it onto new paper today and I've got it down to about 20 minutes per pair. -breathes on nails, buffs them- so...YEAH. Completed the 1960s vintage style beachwear set from #voguepatterns. I think this set looks so cute in Gingham and like that it is fully lined (I used an old bedsheet - somehow the powder blue lining gives a nice contrast). The shorts are still a bit tight, likely due to my lack of experience with sizing! 5 Palms. I saw these surprisingly realistic finger puppets at the @mca.store.australia and knew what I had to do. They were the one souvenir I brought back to Perth with me. My Grabby Hands are rising out of a bed of pearls like Venus rising out of the sea on a clam shell. I very slowly embellished the bra, encircling the rubber toy with plastic faux-pearl beads. And on the back it has little bunny buttons. I've always wanted to make a vintage style bikini. They look so complementary to all types of figures. So I made this one for our holiday. Pattern is Vogue V9255 and I used quilting cotton that I had in my stash. I made B and C combination. It felt unusual wearing cotton in the pool but they fit perfect. Hardly noticed the difference in the water. Started this cute swimsuit on New year's eve. I was curious what this pattern would be like using shell fleece. Pattern is #v9255 One I've made before in cotton. This is thick fabric so I left it unlined. It's surprisingly comfortable with a little bit of stretch. This pattern might also be nice in faux suede with lining. My sewing room is pool themed - the blue paint on one wall is even called “water wings” 🏊‍♀️ This swim/beach set has shorts from V9255, a reprint of a Vogue pattern from 1960. The top is from a Simplicity pattern I picked up a few years ago - no date. It’s a one-size pattern but not my size, so I graded it up based on some guesses and looking at the Vogue pattern top measurements. It was really exciting to figure that out! #memademay2022 At the start of this month I reviewed my #memadewardrobe and realised I was missing separates. So having completed my planned dresses I am now trying to make some summer separates. This complete outfit is me made and made all from remnants from other projects! The top is left over jersey fabric from @craftygirlmaria I used the #tatbagnestop by @tillybuttons but hacked it into a vest top using the you tube video by @likesewamazing which was so helpful. The denim is the left over from my dress kit @fionahesford_sewgirl and they are fully lined in cotton left over in gingham from by @sewhayleyjane fabric.
