This is my first entry for the #SewSkinSummer25 challenge by the lovely @the_sewing_gardener. Lucy, thanks a million for doing this, and raising awareness on melanoma. Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers, but it is also preventable to a large degree. So, don’t forget your SPF50 and enjoy the sun responsibly!
The pattern for this kaftan is the #pesunkissedkaftan from @patternemporium_kate. I’ve chosen the highest neckline (although I had to lower it a tiny bit b/c of a cutting error), 1/2 sleeves and I’ve made it as long as I can without tripping over it ☺️
The fabric is from @ohlssonstyger, and it’s a flowy viscose crepe. I love the colour and it feels perfect for this type of garment, even though it is a bit slippy and tricky to sew with. It was worth the trouble!
