This is the @patternemporium_kate Endless Summer Tee. The pattern has a ton of options I'd like to try. For this one, I cut a 14 in the body and a 12 above the armpits (cheater FBA) - I may take a further wedge out of the shoulder area in the future. I used the shorter length body, scoop neck, single (smaller) flutter sleeve. Fabric is the Organic Cotton Tencel Stretch Knit Jersey from @corefabrics . This fabric is exactly what I want in a knit - great colors, nice drape, not as structured as a cotton lycra but holds its shape better than a rayon, nice weight. Hi I’m back after 5 days with no power in my sewing studio! I just realised how boring life is without sewing in it 🥲. The last 2 days of that I did a bit of cutting out on the kitchen bench to soothe my troubled soul during howling winds, pouring rain and high seas. Thank goodness that part is over! Anyway this is my second attempt at the #endlesssummertee @patternemporium_kate as size 10 was too big even tho I followed the sizing. So I’ve sized down to an 8 and it’s perfect. I’ve had this problem with a couple of other PE tee shirt patterns! So now I know!!! The tank version is perfect for wearing a bra with no straps showing. I want to shout out to @circularsourcing for this gorgeous lavender Cotton and Spandex Jersey deadstock. It’s so soft and comfy to wear. Blessings to all the flood victims 🙏

Batik fabric, as we know it, usually present themselves in woven varieties. So when Bao & Berry Fabric presented batik in cotton jersey to strike sew, I was intrigued and took an immediate liking for it, mainly because it would make for a really quick sew. . Knit allowed for a more fitted tank top, and I used pink ribbing to complement and bring out the pink flowers and BUNNIES! The jersey has 95% cotton + 5% spandex, and the fabric is really comfortable and I love the quality - good stretch and fabulous recovery. . I love the modern take that this batik jersey will allow in my sewing, opening up possibilities of batik tees and tank tops especially. . The bunnies are really cute, hidden but quirky cheeky ones! Two years of on-off Covid lockdowns and semi-lockdown states in the country have put me into a state of recluse. As the country slowly opens up again, I want to slowly build up my wardrobe again. Had to cull some no thanks to those Covid pounds I’ve piled on 😅 . To start of, I made some really comfy clothes lately. Coming your way will be the two new patterns from @patternemporium_kate. First up, the Sporty Lounge Skirt. In all honesty, this one can potentially be my uniform. I love it for the comfort and the A-line relaxed feel. . I made a matching top and I’m really chuffed how they came together into a faux dress! ❤️ . Sewing notes: skirt is in size 12, short length (shortened by 1/2’ so it will end at my knee), plain waistband and welt pockets! So I shared about the Sporty Lounge Skirt in the post before this. The other concurrent pattern release is the tee I am wearing here - the Carefree Cuffed Tee. What’s there not to love about a boxy tee that spells COMFORT! . I made mine using viscose jersey which lends its a nice drape. However, the twisted cuff wouldn’t hold well because of the drape, so I attached the regular cuff instead and it’s perfect. . Sewing note: the pattern was intended to be relaxed in fit. I made a size 8 although I measure 10 because I was at the lower end of size 10. It fits perfectly, thankfully! . Also a new sew is the skirt. Same exact specs as the one I made in the post before this, except that I made the bounded pockets (swipe to see photo). . Happy I have more wardrobe staples! Woot! . On a side note, I just realized that I almost always have my hands in the pockets. I really don’t know what to do with my hands when I take photos 😆😆 .
