Twinning opportunity? Grab! . After sewing the tee for my boy, I decided to try out using the 220gsm perforated mesh as my main bodice instead. I wanted to see if the heavier weight might be an issue as a top - it wasn’t, and the top worked out brilliantly. I would personally prefer this as a throw-over kinda gym top for ladies. . To match my boy, I used the balance of the lightweight mesh jersey to do some colour blocking. . I used Every Me Tank from @patternemporium_kate for my workout top, and it’s excellent. The pattern comes with a back placement line, which I followed, and the shoulder details are a simple hack. . Oh! I did find the hemming of this fabric really hard, and gave up after a few tries, so I left it unhemmed. It might be because of the curved hem, maybe I will flatten the curve a little to see if it helps. . I’ve tried and tested out the sweat-wicking abilities of the fabric by wearing it for my piloxing class and cycling in Bali 2 days ago, and am happy to say it’s awesome. In fact, I would venture to say that the perforated mesh is cooling to touch! . . Fabric was gifted by @bigandbravefabrics for an honest review. My new Every Me Tank by @patternemporium_kate totally deserved it’s own post because it is hands down my most sewn and worn pattern. It always gets a mention from me when anyone asks “what’s your fave sewing pattern” because it just does everything so well. I especially love it as part of my workout wear because: 1 - it let’s my armpits breathe (hello peri/menopausal women I know you know what I mean 😉). This is the wide sleeveless option so I can wear any bra underneath but there’s also a dropped sports armhole if you want to show off a funky sports bra and also a racerback option. 2 - the shirt tail hemline option is perfection for crotch and butt coverage when I wear my bikepants and leggings and don’t want to worry about whether I’m wearing the “right” underwear 3 - It has multiple neckline options so I can have a workout top that offers good coverage but not choking and rubbing around my neck (store bought crew neck tops I am totally giving you side eye). 4 - It’s just damn comfy! Which for me is really important. I can throw it on, it skims everything beautifully and I can walk/ride/run without having to keep adjusting anything. So there you have it! Honestly I have put this fabric in my online cart and taken it out again about 10 times. I don’t wear a lot of floral but I love it on others. I finally just got it on a Boxing Day sale. I’m still not entirely sure, but it’s definitely growing on me the more I look at it. Used it for my first Every Me Tank Dress as well! I originally cut the shirt front length, but it looked very nighty-ish so I hacked the extra length off into a mini. Next time I’m going to try it with a racer back or with more cut in straps, I think the fabric is too heavy up top for me. It’s going to be a good hot weather dress though so I’m still happy I made it! My #makenine2020 ! I recently listened to the @lovetosew.podcast around the #ltsdreamwardrobe and absolutely *loved* it! I’d never really given much thought to how my wardrobe pieces together, or what gaps there were - I kinda just saw a pattern I liked and made it, regardless of whether it was a duplicate or something I needed 😏 The worksheet that came with the podcast was fab! It didn’t take long to recognise my “ideal” style, and work out where the gaps are, which will hopefully make my sewing so much more fit for purpose!! I love the #25in75out idea of @love.it.sew.much and that has gone in to some of my planning too. 💕 I’ve chosen gaps in my wardrobe and all of the patterns in the pictures I already have. I’m not going to restrict myself to just using these (and in a few examples, I have multiples and a variety of patterns I want to use) but thought this was a good place to start! I will use @craftandthriftshop ‘s #make3in3 for each season - it’s like agile project management for sewing 😂

What can I say about this? Getting real here..... Ciara loves my lap no matter where I am, seriously. She is one sweet and funny dog. We are blessed to have her in our lives. After losing Emma, my grief was unbearable and part of me died. Almost a year later, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to bring home a dog. In reality, I would never be ready so first step had to be taken no matter when. Hard to believe that it has been more than 6 months since she came home with us. Honestly I have put this fabric in my online cart and taken it out again about 10 times. I don’t wear a lot of floral but I love it on others. I finally just got it on a Boxing Day sale. I’m still not entirely sure, but it’s definitely growing on me the more I look at it. Used it for my first Every Me Tank Dress as well! I originally cut the shirt front length, but it looked very nighty-ish so I hacked the extra length off into a mini. Next time I’m going to try it with a racer back or with more cut in straps, I think the fabric is too heavy up top for me. It’s going to be a good hot weather dress though so I’m still happy I made it! My #starwars #bb8 commission is done! Beautiful fabric by @knitoriousfabric. The top is the #everymetank by @patternemporium_kate. The skirt is the #rpstevieskirt by @rebeccajpage. I was able to use my new coverstitch machine on the skirts but then things got wonky on the shirt. Still haven’t figured out that machine. May throw it out a window and buy a different one if it keeps this up! Ended up serging and zigzagging the hem.
