My #makenine2020. 7.5/9 complete. The blank spot was for mum, I had planned a garment for her but she couldn’t settle on anything 🤷🏻♀️. Pretty happy with that for my first go at this challenge and trying to be a bit more focused and directed with making my #memadewardrobe. And 5 of these have been in regular rotation so that’s a win for my planning skills (which usually aren’t great!).
I’ve sewn on and off since a kid but at the end of 2019 decided to get back into it and focus on a #handmadewardrobe to create a space for me to escape and think and express myself creatively and simply just to be. A place where I’m not a wife, mother, a researcher, a nurse, student, teacher, chronically ill, and everything else that pulls at my time and my space. A place to savour the act of creating and truly being #dasein.
I love LOVE wearing my #memade garments. I feel so empowered and good and confident in them. Bring on next year!
Patterns left to right.
1 - #peppermintplaysuit by @inthefolds and @peppermintmagazine. So fun and comfy!
2 - #pippipinafore by @jenniferlaurenhandmade. Lovey pattern but I need to tweak this pattern before I try it again.
3 - #helendress by @dibyclub. So so comfy and perfect to throw on and feel put together. Already have 2 versions and another planned #tntpattern.
4 - #mntania by @megannielsenpatterns. Another #tntpattern for me. Already have 2 of these and more planned, such a great pattern!
5 - #peppermintwraptop by @inthefolds and @peppermintmagazine. I was defeated by the not-so-obvious-wrong-side-of-the-fabric. Looking forward to finishing this when the weather cools down again.
6 - the mystery spot for mum’s nonexistent make 😂
7 - #ameliaswimsuit by @dibyclub. My first adventure into sewing swimwear. Huge confidence boost!
8 - #sashayshorts by @patternemporium_kate. So so comfy!
9 - #pleatstomeetyoupants by @patternemporium_kate. I wore these all winter. So comfy!
