An absolutely terrible photo of my first @patternemporium_kate Time out Tank. This fabric originally from @spotlightstores was from deep, dark stash and i am not sure what i was thinking when i bought it as it is so not me. The fabric is not very stretchy so i cut the bands longer than the pattern and they look terrible as a result. Circle skirt plus #petimeouttank and elastic waistband make a cute combo! Instead of binding, I used bands for the neckline and armholes, makes the sewing quicker but doesn’t have the same effect as the wide binding does! Oh well! 5yrs ago I bought this fabric and made a cardigan out of it… I failed to attach the pockets and it ended up being my least favorite item to lounge in! Lol! So I decided to take my favorite tank pattern, the #petimeouttank and recycle the cardigan! I left the front detail of the collar to add some interest!

Oh heyyyy- guess who is in real shoes once again? 2nd pattern for 2021 was the Time Out Tank. I’ve used this awesome tank in so many videos since. It goes with so many things especially the Palazzo Pants (both the knit & woven patterns). This pattern guides you through the awesome wide binding. And it's much easier than you think. I worked on this one for a ridiculously long time until I had perfected a method that everyone could try. This particular top is made out of a delicious bamboo knit from Russells Fabrics in Brisbane. I LOVE the wide bindings and knew it would be the perfect pattern to dip my toes into the @sewover50 #sew50patternmixing ring. Both fabrics are rayon spandex knits left over from another project. The pattern is a great scrap buster! The instructions are great and there is a video showing on sewing the bindings. I made a size 10 and the fit is very comfy. I might size down for a snugger fit for a workout top. This is such a super pattern combo, the Vacation Vibes Palazzos and the Time Out Tank from @patternemporium_kate. I keep making these pants because of how amazing it feels to wear them, and this linen/rayon blend is both soft and drapey, plus the silvery gray is bright and gorgeous. I'm not interested in wearing white, so this is as close as I can comfortably get. 😂 This is my first TO tank, and the wide bands and strap shape are unlike anything else I own. The deep ochre color is one of my favorites right now, so I have more plans for this fabric. I had written a great post for this outfit a couple of weeks ago… then I did an update and lost it 😞 So here I go again - take two! The #arthurpants - a collaboration between @sewliberation and @specksandkeepings is definitely one of my all time favourite pant patterns. For this pair I decided on the elastic waisted version and omitted the back pockets and middle back and front leg seams after seeing the lovely pair @made.by.michl created. Much easier with a patterned fabric that requires pattern matching! The ponte has been languishing in my stash for some time (due to my dislike of pattern matching) however I think it was a great choice for these pants as it holds the shape beautifully and I love the graphic print. I did remove about 12cm from the centre back (as it produced a pancake butt) although next time, I will remove a little less fabric and take it right down to the crutch as I took a pie shaped wedge out due to the print - which makes the back sit a little wonky because it no longer on the grain. My trusty yellow @baredshoes and gorgeous earrings from @salvationjewellery added a pop of colour to this monochrome outfit - necessary for a colour lover! The top is the #petimeouttank from @patternemporium in a light DBP that I made a couple of years ago.
