Hi everyone! Excited to share my latest make, which was definitely not on my extensive to do list but was on my mind and needed to come to life! It’s a Fit and Flare easy knit dress for a vintage feel but the ease and comfort of knit. I really want to make a woven version of this style at some point but for now this will do nicely and is a great alternative for someone intimated by fasteners and/or fitting a woven bodice. I also adore the wide binding. It involves so much ironing and I love it! We're starting to plan for our Summer trip to Italy and Switzerland. This dress with a denim jacket and sneakers might be fun. A matching belt like the one in my inspiration (last photo) would be nice but a clear buckle has proven difficult to find. I've searched online and even local thrift shops without success. I’d like to take one last look at my @patternemporium_kate #petankdress3ways with circle skirt and notice that, when the stripes are lined up vertically in the front and back center you then have created a really cool curved effect over the hips. When you find a style that suits you do you make it again and again? I tend to bounce around patterns but I have a feeling I’ll be reusing this same bodice/skirt combo that I used for my black liverpool dress. As soon as I received this light cotton jersey from @shopolgascloset I knew what I wanted to do with it. But instead of the A-line skirt I decided on the gathered since gathers are especially nice with lightweight knits. I love the floaty feminine style mixed with the more serious stripes. Patterns used are #peenticeme bodice (high front neckline and cap sleeves) and #petankdress3ways (gathered skirt modified to have an extra tier) This fabric was gifted to me in exchange for promotion. I made this while testing the newly released Tank Dress from PE (link in bio). It’s a mash of the Entice Me Dress Bodice and the Tank Dress A-Line skirt. Fabric is Liverpool from Knitpop that I’ve had in my stash for a while. I love Liverpool because it’s really lightweight but also thick enough to feel substantial over the skin. It’s drapey and also structured - just a great versatile base.
