Merry Christmas! I ate far too much in my super comfy new #peeverydaysaweekenddress This is my second, this one successfully stayed knee length using the tall tiers, 1 inch off the tall bodice and cotton lycra. Mid neckline with the band widened by a 1/2cm and short bishop sleeves gathered onto bands. We photographed something! So many sews in October, only 1 photographed! This is my first #patternemporium #everydaysaweekenddress and it's a November make, finished on public holiday yesterday. All tall options (bodice & both tiers, knee length) which have stretched down to the midi length in this spotlight rayon knit. If I were to use a similar fabric again I'd take an inch off the tall bodice to account for the skirt pulling it down. These patchwork diamonds are so cute and way easier than sewing a million blocks myself.😂 I will happily take this shortcut and relish the speed at which I can sew a lookalike dress. Yesterday's sewing, today's wearing is my third #peeverydaysaweekenddress This one with a v-neck, cap sleeves, slightly shortened tall bodice and slightly longer and shorter tiers to make my fabric work. Fabric is a bargain table @spotlightstores rayon elastane which I noe know tiers can stretch down so I used the long mini cutting lines as a base to get an above knee dress. Oh, and if you think you know their fabrics and haven't seen this one, it has big stripes of navy/white diamonds which I worked around to avoid! Voila, a comfy, crazy print, perfect for work because you'll never notice mess on it dress! Me Made May Days 11 and 12: Day 11 is the bodice of #peeverydaysaweekenddress combined with the bottom half of a RTW t-shirt and RTW jeans. The dress was a total failure in this fabric, so this was a good save. Day 12 is the #iamblandine that I made from an old chair cover for #sewfrugal24 with new cropped RTW jeans. I think this will get a lot of wear this summer. #memademay #memademay2024 #sewover50

This dress is giving me serious boho vibes! It was inspired by the subtle hues (well for me anyway!) and striking ikat design of the print - a DBP from @lushfabricsaustralia. After some research and an inspo pic, I settled on a mashup of #peeverydaysaweekenddress and the #pehellogorgeous for the sleeves. There were a few length adjustments made, so here goes! - size 8, no mods - added 3cm to the sleeves - Tier 1 - measured 50cm overall in length - Tier 2 - added 3cm to the length and 5cm (front and back) each side to the width An extra 3-5cm on the length of the first tier would have made it the perfect length, so I am on the hunt for some coordinating lace to add to the hem. Wearing one of my memade pretties today and decided it was a great time to: 1) show off #whatimwearingtoday with the Every Day’s A Weekend Dress - sewing pattern by @patternemporium_kate And… 2) learn to use my new camera! I decided to add a Sony ZV-E10m2 to my camera family for something a little lighter and more easily portable than my big Canon DSLR. There is a learning curve most definitely but having heaps of fun. Still waiting on a new lens and a remote to arrive so in the meantime I’m stuck with my phone in my selfies doh! Let’s hope I can get my photography on par with my sewing skills haha!
