I have a new summer ensemble! 😎🌴 I found some RTW inspiration – a shirt and shorts set in double gauze fabric OK, so I may not be as youthful or petite as the model in the photo, but I'm pretty happy with my own creation. 🌺   The fabric is a Double Gauze, and oh my, it's soft, comfy, and utterly gorgeous. Sewing with it was a bit of an adventure. The shorts I used my standard sewing foot, but it stretched the fabric while stitching. So, for the shirt, I opted to use my walking foot, which worked wonders in preventing excessive stretching.   For the shirt I used the Paper Theory Agnes PJs pattern. I added about 12cm to its length, although I foolishly forgot to adjust the pattern for my curvier hips. I ended up sewing side slits at the hemline, which gave me a bit more room!   For the shorts, I wanted pockets (which the Agnes pattern doesn’t have), so I used the Pattern Emporium Vacation Vibes Palazzo Pants Short Version. Looking at the pictures now, I probably could have made the shorts a tad longer, but no worries. They'll still be OK for beachwear, and if I don’t feel confident in them, they might become my new favourite pair of comfy PJs!   Final thoughts? I love this fabric. Its softness and cozy feel is gorgeous. Using the walking foot made a world of difference, and I'll definitely use it again for sewing double gauze.   As for the outfit, I'm quite pleased with my shirt and shorts set, although I have a feeling it might have a more youthful vibe (especially the shorts). And if by any chance they don't feel quite right (well, mainly the shorts), they’ll have a fantastic second life as my go-to PJs. Being a shortie, I am very skeptical with wide long pants design as I feel I would look shorter & wider with such design. But the new Vacation Vibes Palazzo Pants from @patternemporium_kate proved me otherwise! I do think I pulled off the chic look nicely with the #PEGameOnTop pattern😉 . I made my pants with the subtle cut with hidden pockets option. High Rise with 5cm width elastic. Short cut line and further shortened another 4" (2"" from each adjustment line) I used the comfy #neridahansen cotton sateen from @nekonekofabric .
