Here’s my third @patternemporium_kate #carefreecuffedtee, probably not my last! I intended to make this with the twisted cuff but the fabric must have shrunk in the prewash because I didn’t have enough to cut the pattern piece for the twisted cuff! 😕 like my previous one, this is one size down from my measurements, with the crew neck, and I left the cuff piece down. This gold foil jersey is from @bigandbravefabrics. I’m wearing it with my #sportyloungeskirt and it looks like it could work as a faux dress, if I used the same fabric for the top and the skirt, right? What do we think? Two-piece-setacular? Well hello! It’s been a minute.. 🤓. Not much sewing going on, but I have whipped up this little delight. It’s the @patternemporium_kate #carefreecuffedtee and it’s a winner baby! Simple, quick, nicely drafted and with really excellent instructions! Also includes notches for attaching the neckband, so you don’t have to faddle about with quartering your neck and band. Very handy thanks Kate! 😍🥰. I liked it so much, I also lengthened it into a nightie! Tshirt fabric is a cotton Lycra from @knitwitfabrics and the nightie is in a lovely DBP from the ever-reliable @lushfabricsaustralia , both here in Perth. ❤️

This was the first @patternemporium_kate #carefreecuffedtee that I made, in a @familyfabricsdesign eucalyptus print knit via @sewgoodknits. Ok, so this is my current favorite-tee-pattern. It’s meant to be an oversized relaxed tee, totally my thing, right?! I did size one size down though and there’s still plenty of room. I also shortened the back bodice so that it’s the same length as the front to make it fit on the length of fabric that I had, and I think I will stick to doing this on my future Carefree cuffed tees. I only had less than a meter of this knit left after cutting my youngest’s tee, so I also had to skip the twisted cuff this time, and use a different rib knit for the wide neck binding. Also! This is the first neck binding I’ve sewn that I’m actually happy with! They always felt too bulky in the past, so I stuck to regular neckbands, but this extra wide binding is awesome! New pattern dropping tonight at @patternemporium_kate with the Slay All Day Skirt! . Needless to say it completely slays! Side splits (single or double), offset front split, centre front split & centre back split options in 4 different lengths with wide shaped or elastic waistband options for stretch knit fabrics. . For my first pattern test skirt I’ve used the side splits (both sides), wide shaped waistband in the long length & I’ve added 3cm extra length at the adjustment line (I’m 178cm tall) to make my perfect midi skirt! It’s a nice quick sew, uber comfy, easy to style & falls beautifully on my curvy plus size self. . I recently made 2 t-shirts designed by @patternemporium_kate. I know the photos won't show much detail given the black fabric and awkward selfie angles, but I'm posting anyway for my own reference as much as anything. The Hello Gorgeous Puff Sleeve is a new favourite. I especially love the wide neck binding and the - unsurprisingly, given the name - puffed sleeve. The Carefree Cuffed Tee has too boxy a shape for my taste so I won't make it again, but I'll get a lot of wear from this one as it is very comfortable. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow and both tshirts were very easy to make. Boxy tees forever! I made yet another @patternemporium_kate #carefreecuffedtee. I was gifted this white mercerised cotton knit when I made my last purchase from @withtheweave. Just under a meter but there was a flaw running down the length of the fabric. Swipe to the last pic; that line wasn’t woven and once I noticed it, I just couldn’t un-see it. I centered it along the CF, cut out the front bodice, and then laid over a small length of lace trim that I had left over. Design feature!
