The long and arrow L-shaped scrap of this gorgeous muted blue linen blend has been haunting me for months after sewing my #wsknottydress , but I couldn't figure out how to best fit something on it. I've been binging @lovetosew.podcast, hence the Ashton pattern popping into my mind because of Helen. So... I split the front AND back bodice and made it fit.✨ I also shortened the sleeves and made my own facing because this fabric feels far too soft and loosely woven for any bias tape to tackle. 🪻WALK BOLDY WIDE LEG PANTS🪻 My third and last test trousers, a pair that I envisioned making ages ago, when I sew my best friend, Dafna, wearing gorgeous patterned pair of trousers last time I saw her, but haven't found the right pattern until now. As I said before, this pattern is fairly quick and straightforward to make and very comfy to wear, just like any of Katie's other patterns. What I am most impressed about these trousers is how smooth the waistband is. With any other pull-on trousers pattern, made of knit or woven fabric, to "bridge" between the size of my hips (28/30) to the size of my waist (22) there would always be some gathering of fabric at the waist. With this pattern the waistband and waist area are totally smooth, meaning I can wear all my tops tucked in, or cropped, which makes my short legs look longer and make me feel elegant and gorgeous. These are the first patterns that I have made from @patternemporium_kate and I have to say that I am impressed with the fit of both! There are 5 sleeve, 4 neck and 3 length options for this tee. It is the #peboundtobetee Mine is the crew neck with the length being half way between the cropped and regular. I sewed it up in lovely bamboo jersey from @elliscovefabrics I am also wearing the fun #pewalkboldlypants sewn up in a mid weight scuba knit from @discoveryfabrics .
