My entry for the #so50tnt is the @themakersatelier #tmaswingjacket. I knew it was a fav, but was surprised to find I’ve made 6 (& I expect there’ll be more to come - I like a snazzy jacket to wear with jeans). They have all had a lot of wear over the last couple of years.
The 1st was the unlined blue silky vintage fabric made in early 2020 - that one is closest to the pattern, but I didn’t have enough fabric so had to piece the sleeves together. I am especially fond of the red one in Marian Mahler 40s vintage fabric.
The pattern is easy, a classic swing shape with no tricky fitting issues. The TMA website has instructions on lengthening and lining the jacket. I also added cuffs, widened the neck & front for a collar front and copied a scarf from a vintage coat on two outdoor ones. It’s a great & versatile pattern.
Thanks @sewover50 for the challenge - I’ve taken lots of ideas from seeing all the brill makes.
These photos also show my growing out the grey, which like many people I did during lockdown, I thought about doing new photos of the earlier makes but decided I’d let history speak for itself!
