Today, I was investigating colours that could work with a pair of dark brown trousers that I have cut out and haven’t found the willpower to sew. My plan / hope was to feel more inspired about them and how I could wear them, which will lead to sewing them up.
I found some - in this palette of nine - and created a pale blue and green striped fabric from two colours that could be made into a simple top that sits happily with the brown trousers or other darker neutrals. I’m thinking about it being a flexible and supportive item in my wardrobe, rather than a hero piece.
Originally, I was thinking of a short or three-quarter sleeve blouse, but now I’m wondering about the sleeves being plainer and it having a hood - all in a lightweight fabric. Maybe it could use @themakersatelier Utility Coat, shortened to hip length, with the pockets and waist tie removed. That way it could work as a blouse or a light second layer.
The striped fabric has been uploaded to Spoonflower and is available from: https://www.spoonflower.com/en/fabric/19467986-blue-green-ticking-stripe-by-margateeditions You can also put just the number 19467986 into Spoonflower’s search bar and it should pop straight up.
