#memademay23 wearing an @themakersatelier #tmaflipcollarshirtdress made from modernist buildings viscose twill I think bought from @lamazifabrics ages ago. I think @sistermintaka has some of the same fabric in stock. My mild act of rebellion in reaction to the uk shenanigans on Saturday was to make this dress. I love the neckline of the dress, a bit ruined by having to wear a t shirt underneath it is so cold. I made no modifications, and version B of the skirt. I was green with envy when I saw @thedesignerist wearing the monochrome orange version of @themakersatelier #tmaflipcollarshirtdress I have made several non monochrome versions while not finding the perfect orange fabric. Then when I saw this liberty tana lawn in their sale inspiration struck. The dress would be green, not orange! I pleated the skirt for a change, rather than gathering it. That was quicker and easier than gathering, but made ironing hell. A loose dress in tana lawn is really comfy on a hot day. We actually had a hot day yesterday! Swipe to see the orange inspiration and the back of my dress which incorporates a scrap of old embroidered fabric bought in a Gujarat village in January. It had been part of some previous garment.
