At last ………I finished faffing with the lining on this jacket! Up until that point I really enjoyed sewing @themakersatelier #peacoat. Great instructions and I love the softness of this gorgeous wool mix fabric from @abakhan_chester Oh but the lining! My first fully lined jacket and I started making it when Ali and I were away for our week’s DIY sewing retreat. Ali is a jacket lining veteran and prefers the bagging out method. I think I’m with her as it took me ages to get the lining aligned along the hem so I could hand stitch it in place. The TMA tutorial was helpful but I almost admitted defeat! There’s a bit of bulk around the hem and I think I’ll move the buttons as they’re not central. I’m happy with the pattern matching other than the pocket flaps. But why did I choose a mahoosive check?
