Finally feeling that my winter wardrobe is complete! First up, this pussybow blouse in a fabric I described on my @sewover50 podcast chat, to go with my black #casspants . Frankly the pattern gave me plenty of fit challenges, but who could resist that pattern cover ➡️ ! It’s a vintage NZ Knitwit pattern given to me when an aunt cleared out her sewing room, with a gathered shoulder yoke (probably can’t see that in the patterns fabric) and loose drapey fit: #tmatiefrontblouse would be a good alternative. I have made the Tie Front Blouse from Frances Tobin's book 'The Maker's Atelier: The Essential Collection: Sewing with Style' in a very soft tencel/lyocell called Smooth Drape Twill – Blueberry from @meetMILK, puchased from @stitsj. As usually with Tobins' patterns it is to big, I dont know why I never learn this, but I quite like it anyway. It was very easy to make and it was a relief that this collar didnt have the tricky collar solution with no explanation which has almost put me off Tobins patterns. It was actually really easy. Further I have made another pair of #basetrousers from @Annringstrands book SY! and this time I focused on getting rid of the sad sag mid back that @sygalningen suggested was due to the hip area being to wide. It seems she was right, I took of 0,5 cm of the front down to the hip notch where the pocket ends and graded the center back up to 0,5 cm. And look : no sag (the last picture is a previous version that demonstrates the sag).
