I so enjoyed sewing my first @themakersatelier Atelier Shirt that I made the pleated back version! The pleats are far from perfect but I love it! I cropped the length by about 5cm. The fabric is quite a heavy seersucker that I’ve had in my stash for ages. I should have sewn some weights into the front hem to stop it riding up. However, I rushed to finish it while staying with Ali as I wanted to wear it for our trip to Manchester! We saw Kylie last night! Awesome! AND The Boss on Saturday! 3 days in heaven! My first ‘proper’ sewing retreat and I could not have chosen better than making ‘the perfect white shirt’ with those superstars - @themakersatelier and @clairesthreads ! It was an uplifting, inspiring and fun 3 days sewing by the sea. It was also taxing ……oh that collar ….. so thankful for the gentle, indispensable help and advice from Frances and Claire. With a nod to the #doubledenim trend, here’s another #tmaateliershirt from @themakersatelier The Maker’s Atelier, the Atelier Shirt, but the option with the gathered back. Made in a flowy viscose chambray which was a perfect choice for the gathered back. This version also features a wider gathered sleeve head and gathered sleeve into the cuff. I made a few tweaks including the curved hem, pockets, and making the cuff more snug on my wrist. Well, it's been a while since my last post! But I'm back with a goodie 😍 Excited to share my @sewhayleyjane make for May in this absolutely stunning @pigeonwishes.shops cotton that came in the Luxury box. It was the perfect fabric for a crisp classic shirt. I decided on the @themakersatelier Atelier Shirt that is a new release on the @thefoldline. I loved the construction and love it even more on! This blue… @mindthemaker cobalt paper touch poplin… Bought from the excellent @patternscissorsfrock 💙💙💙 I’ve wanted to sew #tmaateliershirt since I saw it. Had to be the pleated back version. Love the length, the pleats, the collar construction, the silver haired model on the website… This fabric is perfect for it - so easy to iron the pleats into it, so nice to see this blue the whole time… I may have ordered more… I may need to sew a white one too…
